Club Layouts

Our clubrooms are home to a number of layouts as well as a multi-gauge test track:

  • Bardun – a new OO modern image layout to replace the society’s Troutons exhibition layout, featuring a cement works and a household waste disposal terminal. It made its debut at the 2024 show.
  • Prime Cereals – a 1/48th scale American O gauge switching layout based on a cereal plant.
  • Stanley Ferry – a new OO project being built as part of Wakefield Council’s “Our Year 2024” event. It represents Newland Basin at Stanley Ferry where coal from St John’s Colliery, Normanton was loaded into compartment boats, “Tom Puddings” to be taken down the Aire & Calder Navigation to Goole Docks.
  • Thomas – a OO layout based on the Rev. Awdry’s books. At exhibitions, the young and not so young are encouraged to drive their own train, raising money for the Wakefield Hospice. In the clubrooms, it provides a test-track for DC and DCC.
