Bardun
The Club’s new modern image layout Bardun made its debut on the exhibition circuit at Wakefield 2024 where it won two awards – “Best Feature” and the “President’s Cup”.
The layout is based upon the cement works just outside of Dunbar providing the opportunity to model an industrial setting alongside a busy main line. Many of the buildings are based upon the real plant. The emphasis is on movement with the main line trains being fed from a 12 road fiddle yard. This provides constant motion with viewers also being able to watch the cement works, waste container yard and limestone loading pad being shunted. A Faller road system provides additional movement for the viewer.
An interesting scenic feature not often seen is a sea cliff with lighthouse and lifeboat rescue. The layout is set from 2010 to the modern day allowing a wide range of locomotive and stock liveries to be displayed, much of which has been resprayed and renumbered by members of the team.
