Exhibition details

The 57th Annual Exhibition will be held on November 16th-18th 2018, featuring 17 layouts in scales from 2mm to 7mm.

Parking

The entrance is on Horbury Road with a public car park on the left opposite the sports centre. There is a large car park further up the road in the Wakefield College grounds. A footpath leads from the bottom of this car park to the hall.

Unfortunately we cannot put up direction signs but directions are available here

Disabled access

Limited disabled parking is available in the car park opposite the sports centre. If spaces are not available, please drop off and pick up at the entrance to the hall.

If you would prefer to come at a time when it is quieter, Saturday and Sunday afternoons are usually less busy than the mornings or Friday night. However, all guests are very welcome to attend at any time.

There are disabled toilet facilities at the centre, and a lift to the catering area upstairs.

There is no entrance charge for the carer of a disabled person.

Public Transport

Trains serve Wakefield Westgate and Kirkgate stations from Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster, Huddersfield, Knottingley and many other locations.

Please note, Northern will be running a reduced service on Saturday 17th.  Please see https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/strike for details.

LNER services are affected by engineering work between Doncaster and Peterborough. See https://www.lner.co.uk/travel-information/timetable-changes/ for details.

The Wakefield freecitybus links Kirkgate and Westgate stations every 10-12 minutes until 18:40 on Friday and 17:00 on Saturday.

Frequent buses from Wakefield bus station pass the gates to the sports centre (Cambridge Street or Cross Lane stops), journey time 5 minutes or less:

116, 120, 126, 127, 231, 232

From Wakefield Westgate station walk to the right down Mulberry Way towards Westgate, passing the Art House on the left and the Wakefield Civil Justice Building on your right. Turn right onto Westgate and cross the road via the pedestrian crossing to find bus stop W8 just before the railway bridge. All the buses listed above stop here.

The sports centre is about 1 mile from Westgate station. To walk, turn right out of the station heading for Westgate as above. Continue under the railway bridge along the A642. Take the left fork at Westgate End towards Horbury. The gates to the sports centre grounds will be on the left.
