2020/2021 Exhibitions – Cancelled

The 59th Wakefield Railway Modellers’ Society exhibition, due to be held on 13th – 15th November 2020, was cancelled due to fire damage at Thornes Park Stadium.

Attempts were made to secure an alternative venue but, in light of the coronavirus pandemic, the club decided that there would be no Wakefield Exhibition in 2020.

We were already aware that Thornes Park would not be available after 2020 due to planned refurbishment. A new venue had been secured for 2021, which would have required a change of date to early September.

However, the uncertainties regarding coronavirus and the lack of access to start preparations for the new venue meant we had to take the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 exhibition.

We hope to put on an exhibition in autumn 2022.
