Members’ data

If you are an existing member, or apply for membership, we will collect and retain your personal data in order to process your ongoing membership.

How long we retain your data

We retain any personal information relating to your membership of the society for as long as you are a member. If your membership is allowed to lapse, or you inform us that you no longer wish to be a member, we will retain your information for a period of 3 years.

What rights you have over your data

You can request a copy of, or update, any information that we hold about you via the Membership Secretary. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

We may enter your data into third party system for the purposes of record keeping.

Security

We use appropriate measures to protect all personal information collected in a secure, controlled environment consistent with GDPR legislation. The personal data we collect is stored in the UK or by selected International third parties where agreements are made to process your data in accordance with the GDPR.
