| 4F no 4020 heads south through the station with a long freight. The station buildings have all been constructed after much study of photographs. In the background the double telegraph poles which were distinctive in the area show up well. Nowadays the station only has a bus shelter on each platform but is still open. The Locomotive is a much modified Lima. |
3581 a Midland 3F heads south with a freight whilst the Kirtley shunts behind the signal box. Again the telegraph wires and poles show up well. The wires are made of an American product called EZ Line.

| A Lancashire and Yorkshire Barton Wright 0-6-0 heads south with a train of vans for Liverpool. This will turn right at Hellifield onto the ex L & Y line to Blackburn. In the foreground some wagons wait in the water board sidings for their loads to be transferred to the narrow gauge. |
The gangers take a rest from the hard work of planting a new gradient post whilst 1239, an 0-4-4 tank engine heads past with a short local train to Morecambe. In the background Kirtley 0-6-0 1F No 2716 sits in the cattle dock with 2 cattle wagons that are about to be filled with Dales sheep and some English Shorthorns.

Watch out the boss is looking. 3P 700 class No 736 heads south with the Engineers Inspection saloon, both vehicles are kit built, the loco from an Alan Gibson kit and the coacj from a Janick Kit.

The reason for building the layout. The Scotch express heads north after stopping at Hellifield to attach a pilot locomotive. It is accelerating hard before the start of the Long Drag to Aisgill. The lead locomotive is No 311 built from a Janick Kit and the train engine is No 1004 a Compound built from a Slaters kit. The stock is a mixture of Midland Clerestories built from PC and Janick Kits. Under the main line a narrow gauge train heads across Long Preston Beck before climbing to the exchange sidings.
