Wakefield Railway Modellers' Society |
FRYSTONEScale: 4mm 00 Gauge: 16.5mm Size: 20 x 6 The main aim of this layout was to give new and potentially less experienced members the opportunity to develop their individual skills. All the track is laid and is in the shape of a dog-bone which allows continuous running. It is an island platform with single bays at each end. The station building resembles the present one at Loughborough with one or two slight alterations and is set in the twilight of steam. Platforms and canopies, again, with slight alterations, resemble the old Leicester Central. Much use has been made of "Modellers’ Licence". The track consists of SMP code 75 with all the points being hand-made on copperclad sleepers. Some of the points are hand-operated but the vast majority have point motors. |
