Lamonby is a small village in Cumbria where the railway terminated on the edge of the village. The line was built by the Midland Railway following the completion of the Settle - Carlisle railway line.
The line comes into view under a bridge. It then crosses a three way point. The left hand turnout goes to the goods yard with its coal stays and a 1930s style goods shed. A weighbridge marks the road entrance to the yard. The centre road goes into the station platform where the locomotive can uncouple and run round its train using the right hand turnout of the three way point.
This layout has been built by members of The Ivanhoe Model Railway Society, to whom I say a very big thank you. Many hours have been spent by all the members to get the layout as you see it today.
