Millfields

Pauline McKenna, Ossett

Scale: 2mm Gauge: 9mm/N

Millfields was started in 2000 with the first showing in 2002. The size of the layout is 24 feet by 3 feet 6 inches using 8 individual boards bolted together. A back scene divides the scenery from the fiddle sidings. It features a four track mainline (with working colour lights and overhead catenary to be fitted) and operations incorporate full scale length trains.

The trains that operate are from the early diesel types up to the present day. Nearly all the locomotives are represented from classes 03 to 92, plus some prototypes. All the models are from Farish, CJM, Minitrix and Kato and most of them have been resprayed with detailed parts added which include kit built locos, wagons and coaches.

The scenery is from the Woodland Scenic range and the diesel depot and buildings are scratch built. Various proprietary kits have been used with the girder bridge from Kato. Signals are by Roger Murray and the control of them is by Embedded Controls.
