The layout represents a section of the WCML between London and the North West. Planning and building have taken over four years and most members of the club have been involved in its construction.
Track is mainly Peco streamline with pointwork and the catenary begins hand-made. The overhead catenary is made from soldered etched brass and rail. The wiring itself is nylon fishing line while the signals are again hand-made and are reset automatically by the passage of any train which runs on to the relevant track circuit.
