Böding is a fictitious station in Austria on the proposed extension to Kapfenberg of the OBB 760mm gauge main line from St. Polten to Grußwerk, built circa 1914. The line runs through dramatic mountain scenery in the limestone region of Niederosterreich and Stiermark.
The main line was electrified from the beginning with the distinctive locos being refurbished in the early 1960s. The branch to Neuberg survived the lean years, mainly due to the timber traffic and is now attracting a new tourist market. The OBB runs steam trains to increase revenue from this source, while diesels provide a local service.
This layout represents the period around 1985 and is operated according to standard OBB practice.
